A unique initiative is being launched this weekend aimed at those working in the Liverpool Digital Community - the Saturday Startup Club
Each Saturday Startup Club runs to its own unique pattern, meeting at 9am for breakfast at a local eatery, then by 10 they move on to the workshop, in DoES Liverpool's co-working office, Hanover Street. Where they start fresh throwing out potential problems to solve with products, or they might be visited by a startup, putting their current products on the table for a fresh look with the larger community.
The next Liverpol SciBar is entitled Prehistoric Autopsy so head along but make sure you have eaten first.
Following the BBC Two series Prehistoric Autopsy, Dr Isabelle De Groote, gives an insight into three of the most iconic members of our prehistoric family: A Neanderthal, a Homo erectus and an Australopithecus afarensis. The talk will explore what they looked like, how they lived, how they compare with us today and how we ended up being the only human species left.
Static Gallery have put a call out for old cassette players for their Clinic Gig on the 10 November? So freecylers, if you have an old one then drop it off for a cool art project.
You should be able to download the image which has more information.
Interesting video into the use of Mobile Ticketing by the London Symphony Orchestra, who along with Kodime (the digital Agency) and Salford University are testing mobile marketing and ticketing, allowing students to purchase discounted concert tickets through mobile apps. The apps will also use location data to show events nearby and allow students to share comments via social media. This is an Arts Council England funding project.
I can see there being more more use of this kind of individual organisational apps in the future, but the interesting bit is really when they start joining up and cross promoting events using each others apps.
Enjoy
