With Nesta anouncing that five arts and cultural projects will receive funding from the £7 million Digital R&D Fund for the Arts earlier this month - is it about time that we saw more of this money coming to the North West more speciaficaly Liverpool based arts and cultural organisations.
These R&D projects are testing the use of digital technologies to widen audience access and engagement in the arts, with the purpose of developing useful products, services and knowledge for the wider the arts and cultural sector so surely we could be applying for some of this money here.
Free CPD Opportunity - Action Learning with Curious Minds
As part of their support offer to organisations using the arts to engage with children and young people, they have a number of free Action Learning sets they're hosting this year. If you've not come across Action Learning before, it's a structured problem solving method which involves a group of peers supporting each other to look at their professional challenges and find solutions. ACME, Liverpool's creative sector developement agency are having 2 events on the 15th November at Leaf Cafe on Bold Street, a Thinking Session and a Social sesssion. We are all more familiar with their Social sessions I beleive, have a couple of free drinks and chat to people that we know. But the Thinking sessions are new from Kin2Kin and are a look at specific insdustry issues in Liverpool. They are there to offer help and advice to those who have been working in the sector some time or just starting out....
