Free CPD Opportunity - Action Learning with Curious Minds

As part of their support offer to organisations using the arts to engage with children and young people, they have a number of free Action Learning sets they're hosting this year. If you've not come across Action Learning before, it's a structured problem solving method which involves a group of peers supporting each other to look at their professional challenges and find solutions. It's a really effective method they've used a lot in the past, more information about it is available on their website - http://www.curiousminds.org.uk/alfcm

They've got a limited number of fully subsidised places which we offered out to the whole cultural sector and have had a good handful of applications. The groups that are emerging are:

· Museums staff with a remit for working with Children and Young People

· New, small arts organisations working in the community with Children and Young People

· Established medium sized arts organisations who have a well-defined Children and Young People's focus to their work

They're especially keen to hear from you if you fit one of these groups, and anyone else who's interested. Please complete the form available on our website http://www.curiousminds.org.uk/alfcm and return it as soon as possible.

With Nesta anouncing that five arts and cultural projects will receive funding from the £7 million Digital R&D Fund for the Arts earlier this month - is it about time that we saw more of this money coming to the North West more speciaficaly Liverpool based arts and cultural organisations.

These R&D projects are testing the use of digital technologies to widen audience access and engagement in the arts, with the purpose of developing useful products, services and knowledge for the wider the arts and cultural sector so surely we could be applying for some of this money here.

From robots to Raspberry Pi, hackdays to summers of code, more and more young people are creating with technology. But how can we inspire, involve and support a generation of digital makers?
