Dates for Jelly Liverpool 2013

The fantastic freelancers event Jelly Liveprool has released it's dates for next year, so you can get them in your diary quick. The idea of Jelly Liverpool is to provide chairs and tables, wireless internet and coffee but more importantly interesting people to talk to, collaborate with, and bounce ideas off of.

You bring a laptop (or whatever you need to get your work done) and a friendly disposition.

So if your creative and digitially empowered then come along to this event as it's just for you.

Liverpool's first Saturday Startup club

saturday startupA unique initiative is being launched this weekend aimed at those working in the Liverpool Digital Community - the Saturday Startup Club

Each Saturday Startup Club runs to its own unique pattern, meeting at 9am for breakfast at a local eatery, then by 10 they move on to the workshop, in DoES Liverpool's co-working office, Hanover Street.  Where they start fresh throwing out potential problems to solve with products, or they might be visited by a startup, putting their current products on the table for a fresh look with the larger community.

Prehistoric Autopsy at SciBar

The next Liverpol SciBar is entitled Prehistoric Autopsy so head along but make sure you have eaten first.

Following the BBC Two series Prehistoric Autopsy, Dr Isabelle De Groote, gives an insight into three of the most iconic members of our prehistoric family: A Neanderthal, a Homo erectus and an Australopithecus afarensis. The talk will explore what they looked like, how they lived, how they compare with us today and how we ended up being the only human species left.

Liverpool Knowledge Festival 13 - 27 October 2012

The first ever Liverpool Knowledge Festival will take place from October 13-27th, and it's looking good, with talks, events and lectures, the Nanomedicine event looks interesting but it's invitation only. 

It's the first one and it's just what the city needs so a big thanks to the collaborative power of the the City Council, the city's three Universities, Liverpool Science Park and the Royal Liverpool University Hospitals for bringing it to us.

Following Liverpool’s giant spectacular weekend of Sea Odyssey, thousands of visitors are expected to again descend on Liverpool this May for the city’s annual arts and culture festival LightNight. Over 50 of Liverpool’s finest attractions and arts organisations have joined forces to offer a whirlwind night of exciting activities and events for everybody for LightNight 2012.

On Friday 18th May from 4pm until late, over 50 of Liverpool’s best arts & heritage venues will throw open their doors offering over 70 FREE events to choose from including special underground tours, a mass sing-alongcandle-lit labyrinth,fascinating exhibitions and open studiosChinese arts showcase, architecture tours, ceildhs, spectacular light projections,street theatre, live music and lot’s more.

Liverpool Cafe Scientific - Why Mars?

It is entitled: Why Mars?

Social Media Cafe Liverpool is back and this time it's audio that gets all the attention and rightly so.   

Static Gallery on Roscoe Lane will once again host SMCliv on Thursday April 19th where they will be offering an evening exploring the growing use of audio within Social Media. Looking at online audio platforms, podcasting and the uses of audio for business development. 

A panel of three experts will present on their areas of specialism in audio and social media, be that marketing, journalism, writing, teaching or music. The forum will then be opened out to the floor for a more general discussion and Q&A session.
