Leaders in the music business from all over the world have been invited to ensure that the minds of the city’s creative’s are fed with exceptional knowledge to ensuring the region survives and thrives, delegates include promoters, managers, record labels, booking agents and music media to name a few. Working in partnership with Musexpo, they have ensured the calibre of speakers and business delegates are second to none and creating the largest music conference in the North of England. The keynote speaker at the conference is no other than the man who set up Sire Records, the legendary Seymour Stein. As well as signing the world’s most successful female artist Madonna, he also single-handedly changed the direction of garage bands. Speakers also include Liverpool’s own iconic singer Ian McCulloch and front man from Echo and the Bunnymen and recently confirmed Alison Wenham of The Association of Independent Music and Scott Cohen & Richard Gottehrer of The Orchard.
FACT cinema will host 2 movie screenings with the UK premiere of The Other Side of Hip hop: The Sixth Element which details the life of hip hop photographer and author Ernie Paniccioli and also showing is Julien Temple’s Oil City Confidential portraying the life of Dr Feelgood. Ernie Paniccioli will also hold an exhibition of his photographic work which runs at the old Rapid Hardware Store, Renshaw St for one month, celebrated Liverpool Photographer Mark McNulty will also be displaying an awe inspiring collection of his music work from the last 20 years. Screenadelica will also feature gig posters from some of the most influential designers from the USA and UK.
But back to the routes of the festival, the live music and its commitment to new bands and in particular. Gaymers, the UK's number 1 music cider, will once again be the official cider of Liverpool Sound City and will host an incredibly exciting line up on the Gaymers Stage at the city’s legendary Heebie Jeebies. The ever popular venue will play host to exclusive performances from Death of a Hero, The Ladykillers, Direwolfe, Fieldhouse and The Draymin, the line-up also includes many Liverpool based bands such as Terra Alpha, The Gutterfighters and Wonderlust.
