It's the first one and it's just what the city needs so a big thanks to the collaborative power of the the City Council, the city's three Universities, Liverpool Science Park and the Royal Liverpool University Hospitals for bringing it to us.

Learning in your sleep at Liverpool Sci Bar

Liverpool Sci Bar

The next SciBar is on learning in your sleep.  What does the brain do when we are asleep?  You may think it just switches off, but scientists know that this is far from the case. Dr Penny Lewis from the University of Manchester will talk about the complex patterns of brain activity that make up a night of sleep, and explore the mysterious question of what sleep could possibly be for.

Remember there's no such thing as a silly question at SciBar!

TO IGNITE YOUR INNER ROCK STAR

Do you have a burning desire that you want to share with the world? Be a Rock Star for five minutes – deliver a quick fire talk on any subject!

Ignite is an international movement taking place regularly in cities across the globe. Audiences gather to hear five-minute talks on any topic that fascinates the speaker. It’s a friendly and encouraging atmosphere made up of keen listeners who form an appreciative audience.

If so then this event is for you,  on 24th September Pencil Rick productions are hosting a literary themed event in collaboration with the Writers Guild. This grass roots networking event is aimed at providing tips for success and industry insight for new writers and or emerging local creatives. The event would aim to connect such groups with and create awareness of, the Writers Guild and its various membership forms as well as promoting The Lantern Theatre (our venue) as a springboard for writers and new productions.
