Africa Oye is back this coming weekend and we are all hoping for good weather - I'll be dusting off my picknic blankets and getting the BBQ out and heading to Sefton Park for a fantastic weekend of Family Fun. I'll be sure to taste the delights of some of the best food stalls ever while soaking up some music from the UK's largest festival of African Music and Culture.

It examines the Florence Institure or the Florrie as it is known locally, the building has been derelict for years but through the fortitude of the local community it has been saved, renonvated and is now reopen to the the very same community who saved it.

Creative England's Film Culture Fund opened for applications yesterday, with a total of £490,000 delegated Lottery funds from the BFI to distribute in the first round.
