Future Cities - Internet of Things and Open Data Symposium #FIOS2014

Liverpool is about to take a big digital leap forward through the use of IOT and Open Data, so it is really timely that Open Labs at LJMU have organised a Future Cities symposium to help us all along our digital pathways as they announce this week the speakers and workshops.

Highlighting the need for a Hashtag for everything these days the symposium is abbreviated to FIOS2014 - you'll need to remember that it you are planning on heading along on the day. And it's free so lets face uit you will be.

FIOS2014 is an opportunity for those interested in the development of Future Cities infrastructure services and potential value chains. The internet of Things and open data will provide the basis for the next generation of services driving down the cost of information provision within Local Authorities whilst providing additional services to citizens and business. This can only be achieved through the opening of dialogues between cities, technologists, citizens and business.

FIOS2014 will bring individuals together to discuss recent and future problems, expose data and demonstrate potential solutions to encourage dialogue with the aim of developing business relationships between those who can “make it happen”.
