Defnet Media

Site owner and blogger

You like science right and you like beer well you'll love this month's SciBar as they discuss the University of Liverpool’s contribution to the Large Hadron Collider and it's latest results.

Liverpool's creative developement agency ACME are launching the brand new network in September. OK it has the same name as the old Liverpool network but we are promised something brand new and a bit more function than the old site, as it has been built from the ground up by Design Agency Splinter. I should know I helped with the user testing, so I hope they took my advice.

Yes, ACME has been busy reinventing this unique site that promotes Liverpool's creative community, and it will soon be ready for creatives to update their profile and portfolio, and re-connect with others and with your Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn accounts.

Interesting Opportunity in Liverpool - The RISE Coordinator will work internally with TRO regional and specialist managers, Communications Team and with literature festivals and others to develop a model that enables festivals/organisations to meet their CSR aims by: taking shared reading into secure settings, e.g. prisons, acute mental health settings, pupil referral units; to arrange author visits from festivals, into those settings; with the aim of increasing attendance at TRO’s shared reading groups and raising the profile of TRO in secure and public settings.

Closes: 14th September 2012.

What you didn't come along! Well you really missed out on a cool weekend of open source technology and open source thinking - if you don't know what that is then you should have come along for sure. But at least you can catch Stephen Fry talking to the huge crowd who were there.

Liverpool's monthly Social Media Cafe has announced that it is going to be having eight speakers at it's event next week, with a real range of subjects that has something to suit everyone.

With talks on web security, Local TV, blogging about food and digitally engaging older people what more could you want, it's a real range of diverse talks and from what I hear they are expecting more. Plus it's all for FREE because they love you so much.

So head down to Static Gallery on Roscoe Street, next Thursday from 6pm.
