Alan_Dunn-_creidted_to_McCoy_WynneThe Liverpool Art Prize is back this spring from 27 April – 9 June to celebrate its fifth anniversary. The prestigious exhibition is presented at Metal, based at Edge Hill Station, and will showcase some of the best creative, cutting-edge talent in Liverpool today.

The exhibition will feature the work of four artists, chosen from over 60 applications by the expert judging panel. The shortlisted artists are Wallasey-based audio and installation artist ,Alan Dunn; graffiti artist and painter, Tomo; filmmaker, photographer and installation artist, Robyn Woolston and the independently published drawing newspaper, The Drawing Room by curators, designers and publishers, Jon Barraclough and Mike Carney.

logoacmeIn response to overwhelming demand, ACME announce that they are adding two additional workshops to this season’s CPD programme. Both workshops are FREE but registration is required.


The Liverpool element of the North West Visual Arts Open takes place from 2 to 3 March 2012, with an exciting programme of free public events taking place in galleries across the city. Two further North West Open Arts weekends are planned in Manchester and Cumbria/Lancashire in April and May this year.

Winter_Arts_Market_2010_Laura_Kate_Chapman_21The Winter Arts Market at St George’s Hall, Liverpool - Sat 3rd & Sun 4th December 2011, 10am-5pm

The Winter Arts Market, Liverpool’s largest arts and craft market just got bigger; the festive shopping extravaganza will run for 2 days on the first weekend in December. Visitors will find the widest selection of handmade artworks, crafts and gifts whilst enjoying the stunning surroundings of St George’s Hall, a Grade I listed heritage site.

Organised by Merseyside ACME and Delivered by David Parrish, Creative Finance is a one-day workshop designed specifically for enterprises in the creative, cultural and digital industries. This interactive workshop will help creative entrepreneurs to manage profitability, cash flow and pricing as their businesses grow.

AND Festival 2011 - Part 1

performance_and_festThe Abandon Normal Devices festival took place in Liverpool recently, from September 29th to October 2nd. I was lucky enough to be there and while I'd attended some smaller AND events before, I had little idea of what to expect. Nevertheless I dove into various exhibits, discussions and performances over the weekend.
