Live Performance - SIMON JONES
Sunday 3 November

STATIC GALLERY

BY-PRODUCT will be a series of live performances and physical releases which will accompany Static's monthly Sunday Markets.
The releases will be assembled in two parts:
Part A - This is the first 'physical' release of the project - a live set where the sounds and dialogue of the Sunday Market itself will be used as the starting point for each hour long performance.
Take note: these manipulated live field recordings could contain you! For this first performance the ideas around 'transactions' will be explored.
The performances are 100% improvised. This is a one off version.
Part B - A live recording will then be released as a Limited Edition CD as the second 'physical' element to PRODUCT2,
which will include an architectural drawing and a number of short commissioned essays.
This will be available shortly from Product Records.

SIMON JONES
Simon Jones is a composer, performer and multi-sensory artist based in Liverpool.
In his sound work, Simon explores the inner life of the objects around us, creating acousmatic pieces that delve into the world of sound-colour as melody, and examine our subjective perception of sound in acoustic spaces.
Much of his work is site-specific and involves holistic multi-sensory presentations and installations.
Simon's current projects include a quadraphonic sub-bass bouncy castle, a range of 'sonic perfumes' that recreate a musical journey in smell, and a psychological experiment based 18th Century 'vitalist', Franz Mesmer.
