laextrapostermedium_1Liverpool Acoustic eXtra is here again, and this time there excited  to bring you The Kevin Critchley Outfit at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street on Friday 8th July 2011.

Support is provided by Rachael Dunn, The Good Intentions, and Matt Reekie.

More information below.

  • The Kevin Critchley Outfit formed shortly after singer-songwriter Kevin Critchley met composer/cellist Luke Moore at a party and realised they both shared a passion for making fresh new music. The duo were soon joined by Josie Forsey on violin, viola and backing vocals and Alex Williams on percussion. Since recording their debut album Scars in 2008 the band have expanded their sound, blending elements of film score, world music, and acoustic rock. They've supported Seth Lakeman, Mark Morriss (Bluetones), Mica Paris, Ian McNabb, and Amsterdam and have a well-earned reputation for exciting, high-energy live performances. Playing for Liverpool Acoustic eXtra fresh from this Sunday's Chester Rocks appearance, we're excited to announce the band will be joined at The View Two Gallery by a string section, and we really can't wait! KCOmusic.com
  • STOP PRESS - The Kevin Critchley Outfit appeared on Steve Coleman's afternoon programme on BBC Radio Merseyside yesterday (Tuesday 28th June). Steve, who was standing in for Billy Butler, interviewed Kevin Critchley, Luke Moore, and Christoph Demetriou from the band. They talked about their music, the forthcoming Chester Rocks appearance, and the anticipated Liverpool Acoustic eXtra gig, and impressed everyone with the tracks they played live in the studio. If you missed the show you can listen to the interview here.
  • Rachael Dunn first stepped onto the Liverpool acoustic scene in May 2008 with a handful of self-penned songs, and was instantly hooked! Her natural songwriting and performance skills saw her win support slots with The Acoustic Straws, The Animals, and more recently The Chapin Sisters. Rachael's debut album Alpha Ghost was produced and co-written by Alex Dunford, and she's just finished writing her follow up album which she hopes to record later this summer in time for an autumn release. Rachael has recently teamed up with percussionist Chris Cousineau and bass player Paul Reay, and together they perform as Rachael and The Rain. Now that's the type of summer rain we like! reverbnation.com/rachaeldunn
  • The Good Intentions, Liverpool's premier Americana band, comprise R Peter Davies and Gabrielle Monk, joined by Frank Roskell on old time instrumentation. They are masters of the three part harmony vocal, and accompany their voices with acoustic guitars, banjo, autoharp, accordion, percussion and mandolin. Their first album Poor Boy was released on the California label Boronda, and was recorded in both Liverpool and the USA, gaining glowing reviews on both sides of the Atlantic. Their new album Someone Else's Time is due to be release in July, also on Boronda Records.thegoodintentions.co.uk
  • Matt Reekie is a Liverpool based songwriter and acoustic guitarists who has been influenced over time by the likes of Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, Shack, and Syd Barrett. He describes his music as folk/country and writes songs that try to capture life's experiences in how own unique way.
