Get ready for the festival of the year!

Love Music Hate Racism is proud to have joined forces with the Anthony Walker Foundation (AWF) as part of the annual AWF all-day festival – which promises to be a blinder.

Taking place all around the Liverpool University grounds, the AWF festival has a whole host of entertainment throughout the day, including live music performances, DJ’s, dance and carnival routines, circus performers, african drumming, workshops, sports events, cultural foods and much more – FREE for the whole day.

The day of non-stop entertainment will be followed by a special Love Music Hate Racism evening event at the Liverpool Guild of Students, featuring some of our best talent.

Heading up the night will be legendary Liverpool band The Christians.
Internationally acclaimed, the band were one of a number of soul-influenced groups in the 1980s that had strong links to UK punk rock, New Wave and post-punk. With huge hits around the world in the late 80s and 90s, they still hold a massive fanbase in the heart of Liverpool.

Also on the main bill are renowned grime collective and prominent LMHR supporters Roll Deep. Roll Deep were the preeminent, pioneering grime crew before the genre was even called grime. The group are ready as ever to get lively for their fans.

East London MC Kano will also be returning to support the campaign. The Newham grime rapper performed at LMHR’s Stoke Carnival two years ago, and is looking forward to getting involved once more.

Ex-Specials veteran Jerry Dammers will be a very special guest on the night. The man himself will be gracing us with his presence and spinning his mastery on the decks, with great tunes throughout the evening.

Also on the line-up is Liverpudlian singer-songwriter and rapper KOF. A young up-and-coming artist, his melodic flows over quality contemporary sounds has led him to develop a strong fan base that cuts across racial and regional boundaries.

Last but by no means least is a heavy line-up of support – from staunch LMHR supporters Alex Blood and The Diggers with their unique blend of punk, rock, rap and reggae, solo jazz/blues artist Jamie Joseph, to young and fierce hip-hop collective 4i 2i.

So get yourself to the free day festival, and book yourself up to the LMHR event in the evening.

Tickets for the evening event are on sale now and already going fast.
