What you didn't come along! Well you really missed out on a cool weekend of open source technology and open source thinking - if you don't know what that is then you should have come along for sure. But at least you can catch Stephen Fry talking to the huge crowd who were there. 

There a a few tickets left for the LIVERPOOL NHS HACKDAY event on 22- 23 Sept 2012 at the Liverpool Art and Design Academy.

NHS Hack Day 2 is a weekend event in Liverpool that brings together software developers, doctors, and health care leaders to create disruptive solutions to problems in the health space. NHS Hack Day 1 was in London.

This baby is gonna be lovely so let's celebrate as we finally have a Mini Makerfaire in the region.  It's on the 28th-29th July, and just down the road in Manchester so will definitely be worth a visit. so if you like robots, and electronics and the Internet of Things then this event is just for you 

A reminder that  Maker Night is back next week - well it does take place every month you know on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at Liverpool Art and Design Academy and the last Monday of the month at Does Liverpool 

The meeting starts at 6:30pm at the Art and Design Academy and everyone gathers in the downstairs cafe before entering the fabrication lab or mystisystem lab as I call it.

There is a lot going on in Liverpool this week and I'm abit late in checking out what's going on, in my case there is to much going on as I will get to as much as I'd like. 

So lets Kick it off. 

We finally see it - a year in the making but now Hack for Culture has a name it can't be sued over. It is set to set the world of arts data alight by bringing the glorious arts & cultural organisations of Liverpool together with Merseyside's Digital and Creative industries to explore and experiment with a wide variety of hidden cultural data sets.  

"A data set (or dataset) is a collection of data, usually presented in tabular form. Each column represents a particular variable. Each row corresponds to a given member of the data set in question. It lists values for each of the variables, such as height and weight of an object. Each value is known as a datum. The data set may comprise data for one or more members, corresponding to the number of rows." Wikipedia - so probably wrong.
