Barry Briercliffe is a singer/songwriter from Liverpool and was born in 1983. Ever since an early age music has been an important part of his life. Barry is a multi-instrumentalist being able to play guitar, piano, violin and drums. He has been active on the music scene for the last 10 years and during that time has gigged extensively across Merseyside and the Northwest of England. In August 2010, Barry released an EP entitled 'The Alive EP' and during the promotional campaign for the EP, in October 2010, he performed shows in Genova, Italy with Italian Police tribute band Miss Gradenko. In May 2011 Barry returned to Genova to record a CD of his original songs at BMA Studios with Miss Gradenko, who added their own style of playing to the recordings.
Barry takes his influences from such artists as: David Gray, Radiohead, Travis, R.E.M. and John Martyn. As well as performing and writing, Barry is also a producer, producing both himself and other acts.
Miss Gradenko are a Police tribute band from Genova, Italy and consist of Serena Merega on vocals and bass, Adriano Arena on lead guitar and Marco Biggi on drums. They formed on 15th February 2009 and take their name from the Police song 'Miss Gradenko'. Miss Gradenko play an extensive and varied set, travelling through the Police discography, with their setlist's being structured to reach the biggest fans but also the ones who don't know the band all that well. Last August (2010), they played a storming set at the View Two Gallery after being invited by Barry Briercliffe to perform at his EP launch gig. The trio also played with Barry at the gig and sparked off a collaboration that would see the band invite Barry over to play some shows with them in their home town.
Liverpool acoustic artist Ogo Nzeakor was Born in Nigeria. His music has a soul/folk sound. His first album is available from thisisogo.bandcamp.com
Jessicas Ghost have been together and gigging in one form or another since June 2006, and have made a massive impact with their folk-tinged indie rock style and quickly gained a reputation for excellent musicianship and energetic live performances. This translated superbly when the band recorded their debut album "The Winning Hand" with producer Richard JL Smith at The Wall recording studios, Wrexham.
After several changes in lineup over the years Jessicas Ghost are now sounding better than ever! The band is Em (guitar and lead vocals), Moxy (bass), Christoph (violin), Dave (drums/percussion), R-Chris (guitar), and Craig (keyboards).
The music has more of a folk rock sound thanks to the addition of electric guitar and the band still maintain the high levels of musicianship and high energy in their performances. Teamed with excellent songwriting this really does make Jessicas Ghost a must-see band! The band are in the middle of recording new material for their 2nd studio album to be released later this year. They are due to play at the Mathew Street Fringe at the end of August and Anglesey Beer Festival in September, and are always on the lookout for exciting new venues to perform at.
