Services The eHealth Cluster is meeting on the 28th of February between 4pm and 7pm there will be a drop-in session at Leaf cafe. This is just a chance to get some free refreshment and to meet some other people directly involved in Health/Social Care Technology. Last one was fun and useful so just turn up when you like.
Events
A Tunstall meet the freelancers/sub-contractors day on the 19th of March. Tunstall are still the market leaders in Telecare and assisted living technology in general. They are facing changing times though, and they want to see who is out there who can give them an edge. Tunstall will be bringing up their top people from across Europe and access to their data-infrastructure and some high level strategy. They are going to ask everyone to sign an NDA, and will sign an NDA in return. All commercial secrets and valuable ideas will be protected. Tunstall's market challenges will be presented jointly, but discussions will be held individually.
Next is a Challenge Setting event on the 28th March for the AHSN. The Academic Health Science Network is designed to support innovation and new ways of procurement and will directly work with a few lucky companies. As to how they are going to do that? Well some of the way that is going to be done will be designed by us, those of this cluster that turn up on the 28th. Technologists and entrepreneurs will be joined by procurement experts and clinicians to set the challenges to be faced by the AHSN and ways of tackling them over the next year. This is an approach we are trying out on the North West Coast.

Another event at the start of March is the Healthcare Innovation Expo in Manchester on the 3rd and 4th - not to be missed.
Finally, the soft-funding cycle continues. Soft funding is no more 'hoops' than a VC or Kickstarter campaign expects from you. This is money to do innovative things with. Government agencies are trying to buy practical yet new.
Technology Strategy Board has their own Billion to spend and is a hub for publicising other opportunities. Always worth checking. Remember: Biomedical Catalyst is for data and apps. Also, Technology Inspired Innovation registration closes on the 5th of March. There are plenty of other opportunities for us as well.
Horizon 2020 is just one subset of EU funding. This is an opportunity for the eHealth Cluster to do really interesting work with the resources to do it properly, if we can get consortia together to apply. Some deadlines have already passed. We need to get in this game. I will be briefing people on Friday the 28th on precise and targeted opportunities for their companies/departments. Incentive to come along to Leaf at any time between 4pm and 7pm.
