Tuesday 4 Nov 18.30 - 20.30 at Blackburne House. ‘Crossing Place’ 4 - 28 November 2008. An exhibition of new paintings by West Cork artist Wendy Dison. With guest speakers Cairán Byrne, 1st Secretary at the Irish Embassy in London, and Roger Phillips of BBC Radio Merseyside. Wendy grew up in Liverpool and went to Art School there and these 19 new paintings explore her response to the long connection between Ireland and Liverpool and its role as a crossing place in the wider Irish diaspora.

Exhibition: 6 November - 29 November 2008
The infamous phenomenon that is The Stuckists return to Liverpool for the first time since their major show at the Walker Art Gallery for the 2004 Biennial – described by the gallery as “a really, really popular show and very successful.”

Monoprints, silkscreen prints, wood engravings and etchings by three prominent UK based printmakers.

Thurs 6 November 100 Seel Street Signs of Life (Part 1: Liverpool) 6 – 23 November 2008
Thirteen artists tackle a derelict town house in the centre of Liverpool to create new installation artworks that respond to the suggestive atmosphere of the building. Stripped down to an empty shell through dilapidation, it is a view into the past; but one that is at once absurd, disturbing and poetic as each room conjures up disjointed narratives and fantasies.

A site-specific exhibition in the Williamson Tunnels by Liverpool-based artists Barbara Galt and Jane Hughes.
