The Show Your Beautiful Face Photography Competition is organised by Open Culture as part of the ‘North Liverpool Show Your Beautiful Face’ campaign, which is a commitment to deliver real change in the North Liverpool communities of Anfield, County and Kirkdale and to change perceptions of the area.
Photographs can fit either category of People or Place and the winners in these categories will each win £250, with the overall competition winner receiving £500 cash. All 3 winners and runner-ups will have their work exhibited in the final exhibition to take place at the exclusive Equator at the new Mann Island development later this year.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges including: international photographer Mark McNulty, Community Cultural Champion and North Liverpool resident Donna Williamson, and North Liverpool born photographer, musician and author Mike McCartney.
Donna Williamson said “You don’t have to live in North Liverpool to take part – it’s open to everybody. We want to bring positive attention to North Liverpool and show that it is a beautiful and wonderful place to live work and play. We really hope the winner’s exhibition will show off the great people and places of North Liverpool and change attitudes.”
All entrants can submit up to two photographs to the Flickr competition page stating where and when the picture was taken. Photographs across all parts of North Liverpool listed are accepted: Anfield, County and Kirkdale, Everton, Fazakerly, Croxteth, Warbreck, Clubmoor, Norris Green, West Derby, and Yewtree.
The competition closes at 5pm on 31st July 2011. Full details of the Competition can be found at 'Show Your Beautiful Face Photography Competition' Flickr Group or via www.culture.org.uk
