Innovate UK is to invest £2m in feasibility studies to stimulate innovation across four enabling technology areas: advanced materials, biosciences, electronics, sensors and photonics, and information and communications technology - and they are holding a briefing tomorrow.

The expected projects are to be business-led and open to small and micro companies only. Projects are expected to last up to four months and total project costs must not exceed £ 33k.

The deadline for competion registration is 14 January 2015. For more information click on the relevant technology area:

The Knowledge Transfer Network with Sensor City are co-hosting a briefing on the 7th January 2015, for potential applicants to hear from Innovate UK on the competition scope and process along with other relevant talks of interest. Find out more

The Knowledge Transfer Network spans the technologies underpinning devices, tools and technologies that are taken for granted today—and that will be taken for granted tomorrow.

They are are committed to connecting people who don't usually meet because that's where the magic happens. Whether this means farmers talking to sensors specialists about sustainable agriculture; or materials scientists talking to laser scientists about 3D printing—we exist to put innovation into practical use.
