Workshop: AND Festival workshop - build your own internet

make your own internetEver wanted to build your own internet?? Well now you can with the AND Festival's NETworkshop.

It's a intensive three-day workshop where you can learn how to manipulate computer networks and how they can be used to manipulate us. It's delivered by Julian Oliver and Danja Vasiliev.

If you not familiar with Julian Oliver's work, he describes himself as a critical engineer, creates projects that are technically brilliant and politically critical, Newstweet and The Transparency Grenade.

A small-scale model of the Internet will be created during the workshop for the purposes of study, enabling students to become dexterous and empowered users of computer networks. Participants will learn to read network topologies as political control structures, seeing how corporations and governments shape and control the way we use computer networks.

No prior knowledge of computer networking is required.

The workshop will run from 2 – 4 Oct, 9am to 7pm at DoES Liverpool.

Price: £60 or ask me for a discount code
