It's my own personal history project stretching back to 2007 - with hundreds of recorded interviews, podcasts and plays. This section of the site is pretty old so don't expect it to work all the time and ignore it asking for Real Player to be loaded.
So Listener beware!!!
This years Global Ignite Week (GIW) celebrations here in liverpool UK, are coming up on the 8th Februray at the Liverpool Art and Design Academy and the line up for this match has just been announced. (sounds a bit like a contest but it isn't)
Ignite makes everyone a rock star for 5 minutes
Ignite is a global presenting phenomenon, summed up by the catch phrase - Enlighten us but make it quick. - And it is quick, 5 minutes per person for their presentation and as they talk sometimes at a racing pace the powerpoint slides are slowly changing, ticking down to the final flame screen which spells the end of there own personal presenting hell or their own personal victory over nerves and doubts. I think it is always a personal victory for everyone who has ever presented - even if some do have to be dragged to the front.

Soundnetwork has put out an invitation for artists to experiment with interaction in an open hackspace; use Arduino boards, sensors and the paint shop space itself and along the way learn from other artists. They want artists to try out an idea in The Cooperative gallery space alongside other artists sharing practice and technical knowledge. There are no fees or expenses unfortunately just space time, decent wifi, power, technical support and a coffee machine! Go for as long as you want in the week and along the way you will be experimenting in front of a curious open as the space will be open to the public from Wednesday; its about opening up practice to like minded peers and gallery visitors.
Ignite Liverpool will be taking place on 23rd November at the Liverpool Medical Institute and there has already been a flurry of activity from speakers coming forward to offer up topics for their presentations.
