HUB Festival scoops ‘event Oscar’
Liverpool’s HUB Festival has been named the nation’s best at the UK’s event Oscars the other night. HUB is the biggest urban free festival of its kind - was named Public Outdoor Event of the Year by the National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA).

There has been a Creative coup for Futuresonic festival as Imagine to be played across Liverpool on world’s highest and heaviest peal of bells - Futuresonic, the North West’s festival of leading-edge digital art, design and music, will be bringing a world premiere to Liverpool this spring in partnership with Liverpool Cathedral. After months of careful negotiation and planning, Futuresonic has commissioned installation artist Cleo Evans to conduct the bell-ringers of Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral in a unique performance of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ on the Cathedral’s world famous bells in mid-May.

Design Initiative's held a Portfolio Day at Static for Fashion designers, Graphic designers and digital whizzs which was almost sold out. They received some great feedback from the participants who had gone along to receive help and advice from a range of industry experts.

Opening of George Always (George Melly portraits by Maggi Hambling) at the Walker Art Gallery. The work was very good and artists Maggi Hambling is an interesting character and speaker not just about this show but painting in general. We will be bringing you a short interview with Maggie soon. The exhibition continues till the end of May 09.

Do you have any objects made in China at home? If you do they could become part of one of the key displays in the new Museum of Liverpool.
Curators are currently researching a special exhibition entitled ‘China, Shanghai and Liverpool’, which will form the centrepiece of the new museum’s Global City gallery. This special exhibition will focus on Liverpool’s dynamic relationship with China over the years, exploring themes such as trade, exchange, informal empire and community building.

6-8pm at 62 Castle Street Hotel, Liverpool 
The charity auction hosted by Dot-art, featuring the work of celebrated Liverpool artist Stephen Collett. More

JMU Academy - Action Diana by the Centre of Attention
Action Diana is at once an exhibition, a performance and a chance to see the artist at work. For Action Diana, the Centre of Attention will be onsite for the duration of the show/work to produce a feature film casting the public as the characters throughout. 5 March to 4 April 2009

Wolstenholme Projects 
In July 2008, the exhibition Façade was presented by Wolstenholme Projects at Gallery-33, Berlin. Now, in March 2009, the exchange between the two venues comes full-circle as Interzone from Gallery-33 is exhibited in Liverpool.
