This week Phil Redmond has been out expressing how important it is for a Fine Art Graduates to consider themselves as businesses at the Graduart exhibition at Editions Gallery.Ian visited the fantastic show New Middle Kingdom at the Liver Building Atrium - his verdict - See it now - till 4 July. He also steps outside of the boundary of Liverpool for a visit to Manchester’s Urbis for the Manga show. He returns for the Miles Davis show at Static Gallery (now closed), but according to Ian it’s not to much of a loss, Celebrity art does sell and is Ok as an investment but sometimes it isn’t great. A couple of shows to mention that he hasn’t made it to yet, James Cumming at View Two and Friday 13th by Rachel McCarthy at the Almiro Gallery.

Our Lexi’s Liverpool has been on BBC2 again and once again missed by this author, but there is always the chance to catch up again on BBC iPlayer.

This weekLiverpool has gone Super Lamb Banana crazy where you have to jostle with others to get a good photograph of the artistically decorated SLB. There are 120 across the city, with map and tours of the work, you can’t help but see them and even I have been caught up in the excitement. View my gallery here.Jyll Bradley Fragrant project presents Mr Roscoe’s Garden at the Bluecoat this weekend and Jyll has a book out later in the year on the history of Liverpool’s Botanic Collection. moreDesign Show Liverpool  opens on Wednesday night with a VIP night and goes on till Sunday 22nd. You can visit the Own Art stand and say hi to me as I’ll be there for a couple of days.  moreOpen Source City starts on Friday with exhibitions and a series of workshops. moreThursday sees Changeover by Rebecca Key at Site situated at 68 Hope Street. And Friday sees Milk 2 Sugars - Your art show open at Redwire based on Victoria Street opposite Millennium House.Don’t forget Africa Oye over the weekend in Sefton Park. As we sat outside the Bluecoat recording the show we had leaflets for all sorts thrust into our hands so here is a couple of details, on the 21st and 22nd in the afternoon at the Bluecoat is a performance associated with Fragrant - a live art performance so ‘Bring your green Fingers and your Imagination’.  On Saturday 28th there is a performance at the Bluecoat called Under the Bandstand by Elizabeth Willow.Thursday 26th is a busy night as Pipilotti Rist opens at FACT at 6.00 and a Dick Young  retrospective opens at Hope at Everton.
