Ian’s been taking down the Liverpool Art Prize - which took longer than expected but did manage to get along to Domino Gallery, which has a great exhibition called ‘The Other Side of Paris’ photos by Kate McLean. Futuresonic on 1st and 2nd May The Digital art show is still available online at http://www.digitalartshow.co.uk, then launch of Nexus at Edge Hill with Billy Bragg and Les Dennis in attendance; Tate’s 20th Birthday with thousands attending over the weekend, and a sighting of Lewis Biggs and Christophe Grunenberg dancing in the Magnet to Northern Soul. This week

Wednesday - Viewing at View Two - 2 exhibitions plus live music.Ken Martin & Friends ‘Eyes & Ears’ on 3rd floor to May 24 and Mike Absalom ‘Peninsula’ on 1st floor to June 7. 

Thursday  - With the fire at the Bluecoat, hopefully all the artwork is ok, and they will be able to go ahead with the viewing of ‘Variable Capital‘ – on till 29 June. Organised by Common Culture - David Campbell and Mark Durden, the exhibition presents a critical and humorous response to how we produce goods and spend money.  A good time for this exhibition a Liverpool awaits the opening of Europe’s largest retail development. Editions – Private view of Angela Hackett’s recent paintings; on till June 7.These new works draw inspiration from flora of the natural landscape, gardens and floral displays. Gostins Gallery - Private view of SPACES, PLACES AND PEOPLE - Paintings by Will Simmons and Peter Barker 

Friday – Private view at  Almiro Gallery in Crosby, Nathan & Anthony Penlebury; exhibition continues till June 2 At the Contemporary Urban Centre a private view of Chester College Degree Show. Exhibition continues till 26 May. 

Saturday and Sunday – Hub Festival at Otterspool all day; so get your sk8’in gear on. Hopefully Open Studios at the Bluecoat 12-17.00 each daySunday - Piazza Art Market at Met Cathedral. Noon - 16.00 

Further Ahead - John Lennon complete collection opens May 23 to June 2 at Echo Building. 12-8pm.
