A little eXtra from Liverpool Acoustic

Written by

Liverpool Acoustic is  launching a brand new event this month that gives a little eXtra to the local music scene.

Liverpool Acoustic eXtra will take place on the second Friday of each month at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street. Unlike the established Liverpool Acoustic Live event which sees local musicians performing alongside national and international acts, Liverpool Acoustic eXtra will only feature acoustic musicians from Liverpool and the 'Greater Merseyside' area.

The University of Liverpool’s Lecture Theatre 9 in the Rendall Building will be buzzing come Thursday, as more than 10 musicians and speakers will participate in a symposium supporting Music Freedom Day. The annual global event provides an opportunity for music lovers to discuss, analyse, and raise awareness about the subject of censorship by working in conjunction with Freemuse, a non-profit organization that advocates freedom of expression for all composers and musicians.

Sell out Birthday edition of Liverpool Acoustic

Written by

Liverpool Acoustic Live's 2nd birthday is taking place on Friday 25th February 2011 at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street. This event sold out three weeks in advance, although they've still got a few press tickets available.  And we wish them a very Happy Birthday.

The Gods are angry and one man's blind ambition to appease them unearths a hideous secret. As the pieces of the puzzle come together it soon becomes clear that his only success will be in sealing his own tragic fate. Writer, director and actor Steven Berkoff's adaptation of Sophocles's greatest Greek tragedy promises a stirring theatrical experience.

BBC Academy and Arts Council England are joining forces to offer training and guidance to the arts sector across England on how to maximize the creation and distribution of high quality arts content for audiences on digital platforms, including online, mobile and internet protocol television.

The building digital capacity for the arts programme, announced in September 2010, will support the development of the arts sector's media production skills by bringing together the BBC Academy's media and digital experience with the Arts Council's extensive knowledge of the arts sector.
