car park by Bil McCoidRecently premiered at Salford Film Festival,  Car Park comes to Liverpool

Clapperboard  in partnership with The Multi Story Film Company and Picturehouse, are supporting new local director/writer Bill McCoid, with a Liverpool screening of his first low budget feature film Car Park.  

Car Park
was recently premiered at the Salford Film Festival and received great reviews.

tate-hopeleckeyTurner Prize winner Mark Leckey is to give the first of a new series of ‘Tate-Hope’ lectures in January.

Mark, who was born in Birkenhead and went to school in Ellesmere Port, will speak about the influence that growing up in Merseyside has had on his work. The talk will be held at Liverpool Hope’s Cornerstone campus in the city centre on January 14th. The day after the lecture, Mark will visit the university’s art department and talk to staff and students.

Christoph Grunenberg, Director of Tate Liverpool said: “We are delighted that Mark Leckey is re-launching this partnership that brings the best contemporary artists to Liverpool. “The influence Mark’s roots in Merseyside have had on his work is profound and this is an exciting opportunity to hear more about how the work of this significant contemporary artist has developed in the place where he is from.”

The event renews the successful partnership between Tate Liverpool and Liverpool Hope University building on joint aims to bring the best contemporary artists to Liverpool.

In his latest dance-theatre piece based on the life and writing of Lowry, Angus Balbernie challenges boundaries between performer/audience and reality/fantasy. Devised and performed by Melina Seldes and Clive Andrews with soundscore by Elise Dabrowski and Jonathan Raisin, the performance is “brilliantly conceived and executed ...a dream to look at, stimulating throughout, and both perplexing and engaging in turns” (Venue Magazine).

It's been here before and it's back again now in it's seventh year LMW takes us to places that we have never been before.

Even though Liverpool already has some major international music festivals, there is always room in the annual musical calendar for such excellent party guest as this. 

Liverpool Music Week has once again attracted some huge names to the city, with gigs from the likes of Calvin Harris (02 Academy, Tuesday November 10), Seasick Steve (Liverpool Olympia, November 7), Kasabian (Echo Arena Liverpool, November 16) The Specials (Liverpool Olympia, October 29) Reverend And The Makers (Nation, Courtyard, November 7), The Enemy (Liverpool University, November 8) and Gallows (O2 Academy 2, November 28).
