just watched the film Knowing. wondering if people now make idiotic movies so Nicholas Cage can work. the premise for those who haven't seen it is that aliens send down a list of meaningless numbers to children in the sixties who go crazy and write them randomly down. the aliens then come back fifty years later. a few mins before the world ends to pick up and save the grandchildren of the original kids. on the assumption that the parents of these children have found these numbers and worked out that the thousands of random figures indicate a series of disasters that proves that they know when the world is doomed and should go to coordinates that are also hidden in the numbers to be picked up in space ships. real grown ups heard this idea and gave massive amounts of money to other grown ups to make it. I doubt that Nick Cage was auditioned but just arrived once it was being made, presumably after reading that another unbelievably awful film was being made after seeing random letters on the back of a cereal packet. Having said all this i think it is the best film i have seen him in for a long time.

Just realised that both The Iron Lady and Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes are massive recent blockbusters with a dementia sub plot. Got to assume now that hollywood producers will start to equate success with dementia. i am already working on Rambo 6: this time he forgot to take his gun????

Been reading about a woman in x factor who has got into the finals despite not being thin. she is she says an inspiration to everyone who isn't a size six and wants to be judged on a weekly basis by four shallow music biz figures. i am assuming aretha Franklin was, like me, struggling to get out of bed this morning before reading this touching tale. i am now working on methods of providing natural energy by recycling broken dreams of fame.????????

some computer guy is apparently close to proving the infinite number of monkeys writing a Shakespeare theory using virtual monkeys. i always just assumed this was something that was true and not worth proving. much more interesting would be the original scripts they come up with. or some evidence that Shakespeare himself was merely one of the infinite monkeys, which blows the copyright on them wide open.

The news is all quite eerie?? now, there have been a few suggestions as to the wider implications of this, but my vague understanding of chaos theory has concluded that we are heading towards the nearest thing to civil war since people cared about religion. We already have a few hundred angry ruthless journalists sitting in pubs wondering how to take revenge on the media that will go far beyond news international. Kate Middleton better check her seatbelt.
