27/57

Written by
27/57
Currently broadcasting on SirenFM 107.3 to the City of Lincoln, 27/57 is an open submission Sound-Arts radio show. People send in their work, and we broadcast it. Simple as that really. Oh, except of course, the submission must be 27 or 57 minutes long and the contributer be subjected to a brief interview.

We don't set out to forcibly educate, or offend, rather to offer the opportunity of hearing something different, and we don't claim to be particularly hi-brow, or low-brow, or anywhere-inbetween-brow so we try not to intellectualise or academise and simply offer a brief interview and then the work. If you hate it, then great. If you love it - even better.

We don't intend to judge contributions on any technical or aesthetic merit beyond the question of competency, duration and deceny, which is covered by the rigours of the format - when someone gets together 27 or 57 minutes of material they're proud of enough to broadcast, and calls themself Sound-Artist, Experimental-Musician or similar; we're happy to be able to offer the air time.

For more information on 27/57 (and how to send in your work), visit this website

Did we mention that 27/57 goes out every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm on 107.3 FM in Lincoln, and also via a web-stream from sirenonline.co.uk

Anyway, we're gate-crashing the Liverpool Biennial with a selection of works recently submitted to us available as an exclusive download, so thanks goes to Neil and DEFNET MEDIA for not kicking us out - we come in peace, and hope you enjoy our creations - 27/57 is a Rough Diamond Production for Siren FM and Art in Liverpool FM

Soundnetwork are going to be bringing their latest CD compilation to you, with interviews and sonic art - find out about Sound Art.

About Soundnetwork

The concept of SoundNetwork is to bring together artists and practitioners using sound in their work in the North West of England and beyond. Through meetings and creative events, exhibitions and performances you will be able to meet others who might become fellow collaborators, who may be able to facilitate your ideas technically, or who might just want to enthuse about the same area of work as yourself. SoundNetwork aims to open windows of opportunity for artists and to also make it easier for artists (and organisations) to offer opportunities to others. It will become a network run by you, not run for you.
