1897 OVERHEAD RAILWAY FOOTAGE TO BE SCREENED
Lumière Brothers’ film showcased to public at FACT Ian and Mina made it along to this, the film is 2 minutes long! The event was over 2 hours but very interesting academically. Members of the public are invited to attend a free lecture and screening showcasing new findings on the famous Lumière Brothers’ Liverpool Overhead Railway films, as part of the public programme for the new Museum of Liverpool, due to open in Spring 2011.

DISPLAY: Preview for Go Penguins Charity Auction
ONE LAST CHANCE for trail fans to see 63 of their beloved penguins on display at St George’s Hall, before they head for their new homes. The Go Penguins Charity Auction will be happening online from 12noon on Thursday 4 February until 2pm on Friday 5 February. Those wishing to bid can either register online or place a sealed bid at the preview.
VIEWING: Themes of North Wales
Paintings by Frances Walden-Jones. Frances spent her childhood in North Wales, near Colwyn Bay, and in the 1950's/60's spent her Saturdays in the studio of Gladys Dawson R.A. (later Gladys Woodruff). After studying at Cardiff university, Frances spent her working life teaching drama. In her retirement Frances has taken up her paintbrushes again, resulting in these colourful paintings of North Wales. Also on display are recent work by Colin Reid. Venue details
