Round Up

Community College show (Nebula Collective) at Muse (former Arena) - very good - ends 18 June
'Dumb Objects' at Wolstenholme Projects is good and one of their bigger shows - ends 28 June
'Junkshop Revolution' at Bluecoat Display Centre - very nice, a lot of Mike Badgers work, plan to talk to him more about his work soon. 1 August.
Spent Saturday in Manchester - visited Cornerhouse, Urbis, Chinese Arts Centre and Rogue Studios amongst others.
Sputnik in the courtyard of Bluecoat was delightful - its touring UK, have put a short video on youtube

OPENS: 'Raw Potential' University of Chester Degree Show

THURSDAY 18 June 2009 at the University of Chester Kingsway Buildings
A fantastic exhibition of work produced by Fine Art and Photography students at the University of Chester will open at the Kingsway Buildings in June, before going on the road to Liverpool’s Contemporary Urban Centre (CUC) in July.  Exhibition details
 

OPENS: Bernie Lubell - A Theory of Entanglement

FRIDAY 19 June 2009 at FACT
FACT will unveil a major new commission by Lubell and bring together a series of his low-tech, lo-fi sculptures, powered entirely by the audience. Visitors will become part of the exhibition as they work together to animate the large-scale wooden mechanisms, creating a theatre for themselves and one another. Exhibition details

The second annual Liverpool Artists Book Fair will be held at A Foundation.  The fair showcases unique and multiple books, comics, zines and paper based works by artists, illustrators and small presses from across the UK.

In conjunction with LOACA Arts Merseyside, artists and designer-makers will be exhibiting their work in the courtyard.  This is an opportunity to not only support local creative talent by buying direct from the artists and designers, but also to speak to them about their work and perhaps be inspired to get creative.
