art in liverpool fm logo webIt's my own personal history project stretching back to 2007 - with hundreds of recorded interviews, podcasts and plays. This section of the site is pretty old so don't expect it to work all the time and ignore it asking for Real Player to be loaded.

Kafka - Comes to the Playhouse
Not the promotional picture for Metamorphosis.  But if you have never seen or read Metamorphosis then the Playhouse has a real treat in store early next month especially if you like your stories to have a people turning into beetles. (Not those beatles.) This is a truly fantastic story and has had rave reviews after showing in London's Westend. Blurb:  - This hugely acclaimed and imaginative production combines jaw-dropping aerial action, a gravity-defying split level set and a mesmerising score by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. There is no way that this version is ever going to be better that the musical version I have been working on for a number of years but I still can't wait and for £8 it's a bargain.

Website Update and Podcasting
As many of you will know who subscribe to our e-newsletters I haven't been using this website software long but I am planning to reconfigure the website as soon as I find some time with each section of the site being given a different design, which we are looking at at the moment.  Defcon will have it's own section, which will please all the defcon fans out there which will have regular interviews with bands and satire - and news about the gigs.   On the Podcasting front we are going to continue recording as much content as we possibly can and get it out to you.  If you would like to subscribe to any of our newsletters then please visit here or bookmark us.

Lighting the way….

Controversial artist Tracy Emin has been commissioned to produce an illuminated art piece for Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral. This will be the second piece that Tracy will have completed for the Cathedral, the first piece was the Roman Standard completed in 2005.  The controversial artist, a title which it seems the media insist on using when they refer to Ms Emin will be using neon tubes - a media which Tracy - a name which I insist on calling her - has been using recently. And whilist we are talking about Tracy - I'd like to remind you that the competition is still open to win a Tracy Emin - Bus pass holder simply subscribe to our newsltter.

I had an email the other day, asking us to help promote Liverpool's Open Culture website, which has been put together by Phil Redmond as in with his cash, no he didn't write the code.  I went to a presentation by Phil Redmond about the open culture website a couple of months ago and it looked great - so visit it and take part. http://www.culture.org.uk/

Phil Redmond's 'baby' takes its first steps - please let me know if you think it will grow into a well-balanced adult or become a brat! You can now visit the Open Culture website at http://www.culture.org.uk/  and, from January 2008, at http://open.culture.org.uk/  (This is the official address by which the site will be advertised.) It provides an unmoderated space for users to engage with culture, create culture and spark cultural debate! Besides being home to Cultural Clearing, all of the Open Culture Projects will be featured on the site and users can create their own cultural content including videos, words, pictures and sounds and give others the chance to comment. The site will also feature a handy DIY culture section giving advice on things like recording your own music, taking better photographs and making your own films. If you would like to help promote the Open Culture project, and create even greater interest in aspects such as Cultural Clearing, then please add the attached image and the text below to your email signature, or simply pass this email onto others.
