Date: 10 Jan 08 - Getting ready down at St Georges Hall
This was the scene this morning at St Georges hall as it prepares to receive the Ringo Starr amongst others for the fantastical launch of the Capital of Culture. We are promised a high wire act 2nd to none and a pod decending to the ground from which the artists and arts organisations taking part in the artistic programme of  the capital of culture appearing to emerge from from the pod.  (invasion of the body snatchers springs to mind)  It promises to be a great show and I only hope tha weather stays clear so that it all goes well.  Good luck. Starts at 2008 on Friday 11 January.  St Georges Hall, Liverpool

Kafka - Comes to the Playhouse
Not the promotional picture for Metamorphosis.  But if you have never seen or read Metamorphosis then the Playhouse has a real treat in store early next month especially if you like your stories to have a people turning into beetles. (Not those beatles.) This is a truly fantastic story and has had rave reviews after showing in London's Westend. Blurb:  - This hugely acclaimed and imaginative production combines jaw-dropping aerial action, a gravity-defying split level set and a mesmerising score by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. There is no way that this version is ever going to be better that the musical version I have been working on for a number of years but I still can't wait and for £8 it's a bargain.

Website Update and Podcasting
As many of you will know who subscribe to our e-newsletters I haven't been using this website software long but I am planning to reconfigure the website as soon as I find some time with each section of the site being given a different design, which we are looking at at the moment.  Defcon will have it's own section, which will please all the defcon fans out there which will have regular interviews with bands and satire - and news about the gigs.   On the Podcasting front we are going to continue recording as much content as we possibly can and get it out to you.  If you would like to subscribe to any of our newsletters then please visit here or bookmark us.
