art in liverpool fm logo webIt's my own personal history project stretching back to 2007 - with hundreds of recorded interviews, podcasts and plays. This section of the site is pretty old so don't expect it to work all the time and ignore it asking for Real Player to be loaded.

Open Eye Gallery, the north west’s only photography gallery, is preparing to move to brand new premises in the heart of Liverpool’s waterfront after receiving a £100,000 award through Arts Council England and the National Lottery.

The new premises on Mann Island will be constructed to allow Open Eye Gallery the opportunity to offer new gallery and education spaces, as well as giving the public access to the gallery’s extensive print collection.

Open Eye Gallery is one of the UK’s leading photography galleries and is regularly funded by Arts Council England.

LIVERPOOL ONE...It’s been a year to remember and we want you to share your memories and pictures with us.  To celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of Liverpool ONE we are asking you for your memory, your favourite image of Liverpool ONE.

Whether it is a photo of you and your loved ones enjoying your time in Liverpool ONE or an artistic shot of the development as the cranes filled the skyline, we want to see it.

All entries will be reviewed and showcased on the Liverpool ONE website picture gallery.  A selection of the judges’ favourites will form a special ‘Liverpool ONE: A Year in Pictures’ exhibition, which will be unveiled in Liverpool ONE on Friday 29 May as part of the 1st anniversary celebrations.

New Series on the Art in Liverpool Blog ...Arty Eateries and Cuppas

Ian Jackson says it all "As you know we spend a lot of our time trekking around the streets of Liverpool during the days and evenings keeping up to date with all the latest art happenings. This means we often have to rely on the local cafes, restaurants, bars etc. to provide sustenance. Fortunately some galleries come with attached refreshment areas and there’s a plethora of choices in the city centre.
We thought that our readers may be interested to read our views (maybe even recommendations) on some of the places on offer.
First on the list is…Upstairs at the Bluecoat"
