We are seeking brass players and anyone interested in singing to take part in this mass participation performance. Anyone can take part, whether you are part of a school choir, just starting out on an instrument, a University student, or even a professional musician. Click this link to apply.

Victoria Baths Fanzine Convention

On Sat 19 May Victoria Baths Fanzine Convention will be hosted as part of this year's Handmade and looks at how the virtual world is allowing networks of self-publishers to share publications, news and experiences all over the world.  Featuring talks (from Cazz Blaze, David Wilkinson and Rotherham Zine Library), a film screening of Self Publishers of the World Take-over, the Shape & Situate exhibition, building tours, workshops, Nottingham’s Caribou zine shop (in a vintage caravan), and a vegan bakery stall, this unique event also hosts a series of stalls for cartoonists, comic-makers, printing collectives, artists and book-makers. If you are interested in hosting a stall, or want to find out more follow this link.

Little Clay Men

Keep your eyes peeled for 8,000 extra commuters on the streets of Manchester on Weds 16 May. The ceramicist Lawrence Epps has created a series of  miniature ceramic figures that explore the world of corporate culture.

The hand-made little clay men are dwarfed by the offices and work places
 around them, and
mirror the hurried journeys made by their audience. The figures can be found in
surprise locations around the city of Manchester. For more information about this fascinating artwork, visit this link.

Evian Christ at Islington Mill

Tri-Angle Records confirm Evian Christ as special guest at their Islington Mill showcase on Thu 17 May alongside The Haxan Cloak, Holy Other and Vessel.

22 year old Joshua Leary is also known as Evian Christ. A rising star of the North West (from Ellesmere Port), Leary released the acclaimed free mixtape Kings and Them via Tri-Angle last year. Using icy R&B/Hip Hop cut-ups, his production has been described by Pitchfork as ‘pitch dark behind a cryptic veil’ and Mojo recently announced him as the ‘musical equivalent of Mark Rothko’.

Tickets are £10 and available via this link.

I'd Hide You

Watch out for Blast Theory's new project 'I’d Hide You' on the streets of Manchester during this year's festival.

Each night teams of runners in illuminated suits roam the city trying to film each other. As they duck out of the shadows they film the nightlife, streaming the footage online. You see what they see, hear what they hear. Visit their website to keep track from Thu 17 May.
