We are very goal focussed in our society, we want results, but many innovations occur along the way and not at what you thought was your predetermined destination. However, we need to remind ourselves more that it is the journey that is important when you don’t know your destination. On the more relaxing and enjoyable holidays we may head off to one visitor attraction but end up at another which is infinitely superior to our original goal.
This tweet I received hopefully demonstrates what i mean.

Ian’s excitement reminds me of the excitement I would have when I depart on a journey, except this journey is a journey of discovery, a journey with an uncertain end, pitfalls, failures possibly but a journey all the same and one that should be recorded. Hope I don’t sound sound like the great sage equal of heaven (Monkey Reference).
So when setting out on a journey real or metaphorical – remember to get out your recording devices, a handheld paper and pen will suffice or if you don’t have access to that level of technology, try your memory.
