More Itchy than Scratchy for new digital arts platform

Chancing across new digital arts projects is what happens when you use Twitter, simply following a link can get you into all sort of places you would never have dreamed of. I stumbled across one of these places last month and followed the link through to a brand new project from  Battersea Arts Centre, the Scratch online project.

Blog North in Liverpool

#BlogNorth #2: Calling all bloggers, online writers and lovers of social media: come and join the North???s only blogging network

Earlier this year, Creative Tourist launched the Blog North Network, a supportive network for bloggers based across the North of England. The network exists digitally (Twitter, Facebook, email and web), and is supplemented by quarterly, day-long blogging events. Read more about the origins of the network.

The Blog North events move from city to city, building new networks of bloggers as they go, and the next event is in Liverpool. Please come and join us for Blog North #2: Saturday 4 August 2012, Tate Liverpool, 10.30am-3.30pm.

This event is open to bloggers of any level, and is a mix of talks, networking and social stuff. The focus is on digital tricks and tools, and how to use social media to ensure that your posts reach the readership they deserve.??The venue is rather special, too: the glorious Tate Liverpool, with your ticket including access to its summer blockbuster exhibition, Turner Monet Twombly: Later Paintings (worth ??12).

The day's workshops are:

?????????????????? Cutting edge social tools for a better online life. The Next Web's Martin Bryant discusses the latest tools and trends online and how they can improve both your professional and personal life;

Is Twitter working hard enough for you? Emma Bearman, social media consultant and the brains behind influential blog The Culture Vulture, gives the heads up on micro-blogging;
Love your blog Q&A. Learn how to step things up a gear with the founders of Liverpool online art magazine, The Double Negative. Laura Robertson and Mike Pinnington outline how they turned blogging into a profession.

What else can you expect? A free lunch, provided by the Tate, a networking session with The Double Negative and friends, entry to the Tate???s summer exhibition, discounts in Tate Liverpool???s shop and caf??, a goody bag stuffed with art and digital goodness, and free soft drinks throughout the day. Plus the chance to meet like-minded bloggers and join the North???s only network for people like you.

It is quite a packed day ??? click here to find out more or to book now. We hope to see you in Liverpool in August.
