After five years of service as a paratrooper, Stuart left the army and became homeless, disillusioned and penniless. He eventually rebuilt his life and is now a renowned social photographer. Griffiths narrates the documentary as he travels across the UK, uncovering the personal and controversial stories behind the military statistics. Isolation explores the internal demons and uncertain futures faced by soldiers leaving the army.
In the past few years he has returned to the hostels he haunted while homeless to embark on a series of intimate portraits of fellow ex-veterans.
