AND CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: MOVING IMAGE

AND call for submissions has now commenced... They’re seeking moving image work of any form whether it be a feature, short, or artistic piece, there really are no restrictions.

The Next Liverpool Cafe Scientifique Meeting takes place on Tuesday 13th July, 7.30, at the Hope Street Hotel and covers The Challenges of Successful Ageing.

There is no better way of programming your festival than to let others do it for you, in fact I remember Nuffield Theatre in Lancaster won an award for doing just that in 2008. Now Writing on the Wall, Liverpool's outstanding writing festival are doing just the same as they explain below. This is a great idea and at Defnet Media we applaud them

Nokia run the Nokia MiniMO awards so a UK students making movies on their mobiles can  win a trip to Cannes. It appears and it appears to close to be purely a coincidental that a student from John Moores University, Liverpool has submitted a film for the awards which is a complete rip off of the one displayed below.

One of Liverpool’s leading theatre schools is throwing open its doors for its annual musical theatre Summer School, which is open to youngsters from across Merseyside between the ages of 7 and 19 years.

To coincide with those ‘Summer Days,’ Performers Theatre School are proud to announce that this year’s production will be ‘Greasemania’! Now they are looking for a cast to star in it! The search has begun for Danny, Sandy, Rizzo, Frenchy, Marty, Jan, Kenicke and Vince Fontaine! There are also parts for The "Pink Ladies" the pink-jacketed, gum-chewing, hip-swinging girls' gang and also The "Burger Palace Boys" - a super-cool, hard-looking group of high school wheeler-dealers...or so they think!

This month they've got three more fantastic local performers, and one international performer with a touch of eastern promise!

This month's Liverpool Acoustic Live event takes place on Friday 25th June 2010 at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street. The doors open at 8.00pm with the music starting at 8.30pm and finishing at 11.15pm.
