Interview with Dan Lynch at Oggcamp 10

If you missed Oggcamp at the beginning of May then you missed a really note worthy conference in Liverpool's burgeoning Tech scene.

You can find out more about the conference from this (unedited) video interview with Dan Lynch one of the organisers and an active member of the Liverpool Open Source community.

 After all of these conferences it's alwasy asked what the legacy of such an event - well here is one thing - I now have a 10 Year old Toshiba laptop that now runs Ubuntu. Fitted by Les Pounder - Ubuntu installfest - What a great way of recycling old machines instead of dumping them in the rubbish bin. If you had brought one down then they would have fixed up your for free to. Another impact was when local musician Alun Parry released Pirate Me For Ogg Camp - an entire free album in it for  anyone to download in an ogg format - that's the open source format who's equal is MP3.   Click the link to find out more:

    Liverpool Central Library will host a unique opportunity for visitors to meet artists who make ‘book art’ and to buy directly from them on 8 and 9 July.

    Founded by former Chairman of the Bluecoat Simon Ryder, the fair is now in its third year. Works for sale include cards and hand-crafted notebooks; limited editions of books of text and illustration; hand-made papers; and unique book sculptures. Prices range from around £5 into the hundreds.
