opencurateitA few places are still avilable on an Augmented Reality Workshop next week at FACT Liverpool.

Tamiko Thiel from Manifest.AR will be giving a workshop on making augmented reality applications using Layar. Check out the work that Manifest.AR have done ‘re-curating’ high art spaces using this technology.

More details below

In this workshop participants will learn how to create simple location-based augmented reality artworks using the free platform Layar (www.layar.com). The first evening will teach the basics of location-based AR; on the second evening partipants should bring material to create their own works, which we will place in FACT and the surrounding city.

A founding member of the cyberartist group Manifest.AR, Thiel will be starting two collaborative projects with FACT as part of the Manifest.AR ARtSense commission, with a scheduled exhibition at FACT in March 2013. She and another 4 Manifest.AR artists will be back in Liverpool from 11th-22nd June to do further work these and other projects. AR Workshop participants are gladly invited to collaborate!

Prerequisites:

- Basic image processing (Photoshop etc) and basic PC knowledge needed. No programming or 3D knowledge necessary, but if you have it you can do more complicated works on your own.
