Tuesday 7th - Quiescence by McCoy Wynne. 7 - 12 October 2008
11 Wolstenholme Sq. Photographic exhibition of quiescent places awaiting their planned regeneration. The exhibition is a collaboration of photographers Steve McCoy and Stephanie Wynne. Over the past 5 years they have responded to buildings and environments that are about to undergo a change of use.

Deep in the park, as dusk falls, old gramophones spin glittering sounds whilst clicking insects cast vast moving shadows. Haunting whistles rise and fall and luminous balloons breathe gentle sighs. A Victorian glasshouse shudders, and sparkling flowerbeds dance to their own tune….
For five nights, the Victorian leisure gardens of Calderstones Park, Liverpool will be transformed into a bewitching nocturnal world with one of the largest audio visual installations ever to come to Liverpool.
Thursday 9th - Art at the Car Park (TAO, Duke St.) A diverse group show in response to the CPP Car Park, Liverpool. The result is a body of new artwork that weaves the social, economic, political historical and geographical situation of the site and the city at large.

Literature Festival - Chapter & Verse at the Bluecoat
Tickets are now on sale for Merseyside's new annual literature festival, Chapter & Verse at the Bluecoat, which runs from Thursday 9 to Sunday 19 October.
The festival starts on National Poetry Day and finishes with a weekend of exciting events to celebrate the Liverpool Irish Festival.
Throughout the 11 day festival, Chapter & Verse will feature readings, book signings, talks, discussions, performances and workshops from a range of speakers and authors. Highlights include Jim Crace, Tariq Ali, Linda Grant, Sadie Jones, Lemn Sissay, Liverpool's own Mercy and Heart Beats, plus many more.

‘If clothing could speak, what would be revealed’ We all have a significant memory that involves a special item or outfit, through the work the artist is investigating and challenging our perceptions and our relationship with our clothing. In this new work Caroline is exploring the meaning, memory, experience and value left in our favourite or special items of clothing, and the time, repition and ritual of the making process.
ONLY a GAME? - UEFA football exhibition to open at World Museum Liverpool opens Sat 11 October
A ground breaking new exhibition exploring Europe’s love affair with the beautiful game is to open at World Museum Liverpool on Saturday 11 October.
Running from 11 October 2008 till 1 March 2009, Only a Game? is an interactive exhibition for the whole family, inviting visitors to plunge into the emotions of football inspired by a selection of prestigious artefacts, trophies and memorabilia from over 50 years of European football.
In collaboration with the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), National Football Museum and National Museums Liverpool, the UEFA exhibition is making its only UK appearance in Liverpool; European Capital of Culture and arguably one of Europe’s great capitals of football.
All four of UEFA’s most prestigious trophies will be on display during the opening month of the exhibition representing a very rare occasion when the UEFA European Championship (EURO) and UEFA Champions League trophies will appear alongside the UEFA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in the same place at the same time. - Yeah sounds great if you like that sort of thing
